One Pot Mushroom Spaghetti

Prep Time: 5 Minutes



  • 1 tablespoon canola oil or olive oil

  • 6 ounces mushrooms, sliced (about 2 cups)

  • 1 jar (23.5 ounces) Prego® Traditional No Sugar Added Italian Sauce or Classic Marinara

  • 2 cups water

  • 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti, broken in half

  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese 


  1. Heat the oil in a 6-quart saucepot over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.

  2. Add the sauce, water and spaghetti to the saucepot and heat to a boil. Cover. Reduce the heat to medium-low.

  3. Cook for 20 minutes or until the spaghetti is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in the cheese. Season to taste. Serve sprinkled with chopped fresh basil, if desired.




Recipe Note: For a version without mushrooms, you can omit the mushrooms and oil and skip Step 1.
